A big Thank You also to Board & Brush and Deviant Wolfe for donating the perfect date night for our ambassadors July Date Night!

I love being crafty so I was more than excited when I found out we were headed to Board and Brush for this month’s date night!!!

We did the usual… Uber to downtown Sanford, but this time we had them drop us off somewhere new – the Historic Sanford Welcome Center. I had never been before but needing to get my hands on the amazing handmade goods from Whiskerworks was a great excuse to go!

I was surprised to find so many local crafts and goods for sale all alongside tons of information about the City of Sanford. We were really impressed with the Visitor’s Center and I’ll be making more visits in the near future! I quickly spotted the Whiskerworks display….I had my eye on two pieces that I had seen on Instagram – a wood carved keychain of the Sanford Clock as well as a “Flat Henry”.

After purchasing my coveted woodcarvings, we strolled across the street to Magpies to do a little more shopping during Sanford’s Christmas in July event. We’ve always been really lucky with our date nights coinciding with a fun Downtown Sanford event or festival. Not sure if it’s my planing skills or because there is always something going on in Sanford!?!?!

Since my shopping took a bit longer than expected, hubby made his way over to the newly opened Celery City Cigars while I snagged a super adorable beaded bracelet and necklace from Magpies. We met back at the main courtyard of Celery City before we headed to an early dinner. This was not part of our “date night package” but we have been wanting to try out El Zocalo so we figured there was no better night. The food was delicious! Both the hubby and I were not disappointed.

After dinner we headed over to Deviant Wolfe Brewing for a quick drink before our class.

Mike ordered a flight of beers because he knew exactly what he wanted to taste. Me, on the other hand…. I’m not a big beer drinker but lately I am all about the sours, thanks to Mike introducing me. I ordered a sour that was made from either coffee or espresso beans – I’m not exactly sure but it was AMAZING!

Next thing we knew, we needed to head on over to Board and Brush for our class.

The shop is really impressive. There are so many options and there’s a little something for everyone…. the possibilities seem endless.

Mike chose a wooden crate with our initial and I chose a 6’ tall wooden ruler with our son’s name on it. The instructors began the class by explaining the process, then showing us the many options for stain and paint colors. We chose our favorites and began creating. We had a blast during the class and what’s even better is that our projects turned out looking incredible. We couldn’t be happier with them!

We may or may not have snuck over to Celery city (again) after class for a quick night cap. Only Christina Hollerbach really knows, but when our bellies started grumbling for some late night food we headed to the one and only….  Mr. Z’s, of course!!!! We made our way to Mr. Z’s, grabbed a Philly Cheese Steak and cheese fries before calling our Uber home.

Phewwwww…… Another great date night in the books! August will be a bit different. We can’t wait to share it with everyone!

P.S. Flat Henry had a great time on our date as the third wheel!
