Oh Buoy! Buzz Boat Is All A-Boat Fun in Sanford, FL

When we first moved to Sanford, we had no idea the amount of adventure and fun that this small historic town held. On one of our first days of living here, James and I decided to take a drive around downtown and were absolutely thrilled to discover how close we were to Lake Monroe and the marina. We are both huge lovers of the water and anything and everything to do with it, so when Buzz Boat offered me an opportunity to take out a pontoon rental for the day, I could not wait to share my experience with all of you.

When talking to Mita, the owner of Buzz Boat, she told me that the company was started for their children, who grew up on a lake and learned about boating from a very young age. Her son Amir, who is a student at Seminole State College usually runs the day to day operations. “We realize that boating is a memorable experience for families and friends and can be a great activity for kids of all ages. It is also a great way to spend quality time with your children in this technology world,” said Mita and I agree whole heartedly.

Both her and her son give this company such a welcoming and personal touch. They both personally take reservations themselves until 9pm Monday-Thursday and 10pm Friday-Sunday and not only do they offer 3 different types of pontoon boats but a bow rider, fishing boat, basic & premium jet ski and a luxury yacht which can host large events! And although we did not bring Charlie (our dog), dogs are allowed on the boats with you!

We cruised around Lake Monroe and eventually ventured out on to St. John’s River where we actually ended up seeing what looked like a shipwrecked boat stuck on a sand dune in the middle of the water! I totally felt like Ariel from The Little Mermaid (don’t worry, I didn’t swim through it and I don’t recommend you do either for fear of some unwanted creature attention).

It was such an awesome afternoon listening to music (the boats are equipped with a Bluetooth speaker) and spending time with friends on the water, I can’t wait to do it again!
