On March 27th, 2020 Sanford Porchfest and Sanford365 invited all Sanford residents to celebrate our resilient, lovely city by decorating their front porches with scenes of hope, happiness and neighborly love. As a way to show the world that we are not alone in this time of self-isolation and uncertainty.

Families and neighbors came together using items found within their household and got creative as they decorated their front porches with painted cardboard, brightly colored paper, balloons and other festive decor found within their homes. What a joy it was to see our community’s creativity spark and to listen to the buzz as neighbors began to notice these beautifully decorated porches.

We cannot thank you all enough not only for participating, but also for taking the time to bring a smile to others’ faces.

Both, Sanford Porchfest and Sanford365 came together and asked 6 Sanford residents to partake in the judging process. The six judges were given 25 points to allocate in any increment amongst their top three favorites. Those points were then tallied to determine a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place design. All the submissions were amazing and we are so impressed by the level of participation by our community.
