As I had already said back in March after my very first LimoCycle experience:
“I’ll be back!”
(with a German, not Austrian accent, please)
The timing was great! As member of the Central Florida Lady Bloggers, I was in charge of organizing one of our monthly meet-ups, and what better location than Sanford? Most of my blogger friends had never been to Sanford so I was excited to see so many sign up for my event – and to be their tour guide for the night while hearing their first impressions of our town.
You can follow my #Sanford365 Tagboard to see all pictures taken that night by our group.

Meeting Spot: Craft Cocktail Central (aka The Imperial at Washburn Imports)
Before we started our tour I met a few bloggers at The Imperial at Washburn Imports. We tried some craft cocktails (several Gin Flowers were consumed) and ordered a large pizza from Christo’s. I love that you can do that at the Imperial. They carry menus of most Downtown restaurants so you can order your favorite food and eat it at the Imperial while enjoying your drink(s).
We were excited to hop on the LimoCycle after this short gathering and, just like last time, instant smiles and laughter came easy and everyone was in a great mood from the get-go. As many of my friends mentioned after the ride: LimoCycle is great to get to know each other and also ideal for team building events. We have all attended blogger meet-ups in the past, but the LimoCycle really got us all to interact with each other so much more than at any other meet-up before. This beats your regular ole restaurant or coffee shop meet-up, guaranteed!
Side Note: I don’t know how “normal” this is for any other tour, but us girls were tweeting, instagramming, texting, taping and snapping pictures all night long – without anyone ever nagging how rude or “anti-social” that is. Bloggers are a special breed and totally cool with smart phones being used ALL the time. Made me feel great and motivated me to take even MORE pictures 🙂 And best of all: while doing all of that we still got the full experience. Bloggers are talented multi-taskers…
We had a big bottle of Sangria on board, some of us also beer. The cheering started at the first “Stop Sign Social” (we were still in the LimoCycle parking lot) and never ended…
Stop Sign Social
Noun: The act of lifting your cups filled with (alcoholic) beverages and cheering as loud as you can at every single stop sign in town.
First Pub Crawl Stop: Hollerbach’s
Our first stop was Hollerbach’s Willow Tree, my all time favorite restaurant in Sanford. It was my quickest visit ever, yet also one of the most fun visits. We immediately started “Das Boot”, and once finished sat down and sampled some delicious brat sliders, red cabbage, Sauerkraut and Heaven & Earth potatoes. As mentioned, our time was short but we truly enjoyed the awesome atmosphere (Hollerbach’s always exceeds expectations) which left everyone wanting to go back for a more “in-depth study” of German food and culture. A BIG thank you to Theo Hollerbach who made this visit an unforgettable experience for us.
Group Picture(s)
Next, we rode down the beautiful waterfront (way to burn off those calories!) with a short stop at Nemo’s. The views were fantastic and, snap times 20, we took our group pictures…
(Thanks GoEpicurista.com for this awesome shot!)
Final Stop: The Imperial
Our final stop was (again) The Imperial at Washburn Imports where we enjoyed some more craft cocktails. It was the inaugural evening of Vinyl Thursdays which created some great vibes.
I can also tell you that my fellow lady bloggers were all pleasantly surprised by Sanford’s historic Downtown and vowed to come back – and spread the word about this hidden gem right here in Central Florida. Mission accomplished 😉
