All of you local Sanfordites already know that Tuffy’s is one of the top spots to go when in Downtown Sanford. With its laid-back front bar, its secret Tiki hideaway and its beautiful outdoor courtyard it was already at the top of our “going out” list. But now, we have news that just made it next level. Swine & Sons, a provisions market and craft butcher which has turned into a bustling sandwich shop with full-service catering, has teamed up with Tuffy’s to bring you a killer food menu available Thursday through Sunday starting at the end of May.

In addition to this amazing collaboration between two of our favorite places, Tuffy’s is getting another upgrade! I got the chance to get a “behind the scenes” look at what is to come when there recently, and I was absolutely blown away. The new permanent home of Swine & Sons catering will be located inside Tuffy’s Music Box – an all-new events and music space that can hold up to 350 people standing and 250 seated. We were welcomed by Dan, co-owner of Tuffy’s who revealed this insanely impressive quarantine-project of his with a live musician, bistro lights, set tables and a full bar loaded with all of Swine & Son’s best food options. It is absolutely the perfect place for more casual weddings, social gatherings and loads of other events.

Tuffy’s Music Box has a huge garage door style opening that leads right out into their beautiful courtyard – which by the way will also include an outdoor smokehouse featured with a brick hearth for live-fire cooking as well as a specially-fabricated, above-ground steel pit, big enough to smoke a whole hog! Is it appropriate to say “holy cow”?!

While enjoying live music by the talented John Lee Wyatt (@johnleewyatt), we got to speak with owners Rhys + Alexia, who told us a little bit about their story. All of their food is mainly locally sourced, and they do their very best to provide all natural, antibiotic, locally sourced meats and produce. Their meat also comes from grass-fed cattle located at Providence Cattle Company here in Florida. Now I am definitely a foodie; I love to try new things and find new food that makes me literally say “yum” out loud. And this did it. Below is a list of all of the amazing options that I got the absolute pleasure of trying, and I have to say that the OK Onion Smash Burger was by far one of the BEST burgers I have ever had.

I absolutely cannot wait for this collaboration to start full swing so all of you can experience an amazing late-night snack (they will have a late-night menu on certain nights) or just a great meal with good friends in an amazing ambiance.  It will definitely not be a “Tuff” decision to head there on your next night out (ha! Get it?).
