Krampusnacht at Hollerbach’s – 5.Dezember 2020

When: Saturday, December 5th, 6-9pm

Where: Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Café German Restaurant, 205 E 1st St, Sanford, FL 32771

What: ??????? is returning to Sanford – and there’s nothing you can do about it……except come to Hollerbach’s on December 5th and meet the dreaded old horned goat-demon himself in person! Even with so many ???????? children to stuff in his sack and so many people around the world to terrify, Krampus is still finding time to honor us with a visit for the third year in a row.“Who or what is a Krampus?”
We’ll give you the brief version: according to certain traditions, ??? ???????? (St. Nicholas) is sometimes accompanied by a “helper” to deal with the naughty kids while he reads stories and gives presents to the good kids: either Knecht Ruprecht or the feared goat-demon Krampus, who wears a basket to carry bad children away!
But in parts of Europe – and more recently, even here in North America – there’s also a growing tradition of people dressing up in frightening Krampus costumes and forming a parade in the village to wreak havoc in the streets, scream like demons, rattle chains and bells, and generally cause non-violent mayhem: the ???????????, or Krampus Run. Krampus was so impressed with last year’s turnout that he wants to see another Krampuslauf in Sanford this year, which will run at 9 pm from the Willow Tree to our friends at West End Trading Co. just a few blocks away.IMPORTANT OTHER DETAILS KRAMPUS WANTS YOU TO KNOW:- This event is free to attend – no admission, no cover charge, no reservations- Krampus costumes not required but highly encouraged! Suggested sources of design inspiration include YouTube and Facebook Events and Groups with “Krampus” in the title- Although Hollerbach’s is a family-friendly establishment, please keep in mind that Krampus, the guests dressed as him, the images displayed on screen, and the background music will create an atmosphere that could be too intense and even frightening for children who don’t understand that Krampus is NOT REAL (or is he?…)- Our Willow Tree German Restaurant and Biergarten will be still be offering the full regular menu – details about the special food and beverage items we’re adding just for Krampusnacht will be released at a later date.- Our house polka band
Jimmy and Eckhard: Live Traditional German Music will still be performing their usual show on the Willow Tree stage 6-9 pm.- The Krampusnacht event will take place at Hollerbach’s Lodge Bar and upstairs Biergarten.Help us preserve this bizarre and only slightly (?) terrifying German holiday tradition…come experience Krampusnacht at Hollerbach’s!

Admission: Free

When: Sunday, December 6th, 12pm-9pm

Where: Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Café German Restaurant, 205 E 1st St, Sanford, FL 32771, USA

What: Have you been ????? Or have you been ???????? Der Nikolaus is coming, and he’ll know!
??. ???????? ??? (???????????) is an old German holiday tradition we love bringing to Sanford each year on December 6th! St. Nikolaus himself will be joining us, and Jimmy and Eckhard: Live Traditional German Music will be performing their annual Christmas show, at both 12:00pm and again at 6:00pm. ????????? (Christmas in a glass) will be served nice and hot all day. It’s the perfect way to get yourself in the Christmas spirit!
This year St Nick will visit each of the tables to give gifts to the children and will be available for pictures in Magnolia Square in front of the Christmas Tree.

“Light Up Sanford” (Holiday Tour of Homes COVID-19 Edition)

When: Saturday, December 11th-20th

Where: Historic Downtown Sanford

What: After much consideration, the Sanford Historic Trust Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to postpone the Sanford Holiday Tour of Homes until 2021. This was not an easy decision to make as it will be the first time in 32 years that the Sanford Historic Trust has not hosted this event, which is our sole fundraiser for the entire upcoming year. The health and safety of our community is our highest priority, and we feel it would be socially irresponsible to continue with the event while COVID-19 still lingers. We hope our membership and loyal attendees will understand our responsibility during these unprecedented times.

With that being said, we are excited to present “Light Up Sanford” in lieu of the traditional Sanford Holiday Tour of Homes. The Sanford Historic Trust has proudly partnered with The City of Sanford to bring neighbors and neighborhoods together in a fun, covid friendly, socially distanced holiday tradition. Residents of Sanford will decorate the exterior of their homes for a chance to win a $500 prize! Hop in your car, jump on a bike, grab the golf cart, or stroll the neighborhoods for this self-guided tour. We can’t wait to see our community back in action and Sanfording safely!

To participate in the contest, you must register your home on www.LightUpSanford.com and submit a photo of your decorated home by December 10th. All photos will be posted to the Sanford Holiday Tour of Home’s Facebook page for a public vote. Voting will begin on December 11th and end on December 20th at 11:59PM. The winner will be announced on December 23rd and will receive a $500 CASH prize! Second and third place winners will receive $100 each.
