Sanford Date Nights: Dinner at The District and Drinks at Luisa’s Cellar

Ahhhh, as summer comes to a close we find ourselves on another date night in Sanford! This time we went to two places we have been before but only briefly. So we were excited to be going back to spend more time and enjoy all they have to offer.

We first popped into Luisa’s Cellar. We were greeted by Mary, who has a very welcoming smile! She was very knowledgable about her wine selection as well as the coffee choices. Mike loved the craft beer selection in the coolers. We ordered the delicious charcuterie platter and were not disappointed. The cheese and meat selection was perfect! It hit the spot holding us over until our dinner reservations later that night.

Speaking of dinner, it was about that time to head over to The District, which is only a few blocks away from Luisa’s. We were a bit early for our reservations so we had a seat at the bar and ordered a few cocktails. Mike ordered a glass of Whistle Pig over a very fancy ice cube (can you tell I don’t sip fancy whiskies?!?!?) and I chose a White Claw.

Once we were seated at our table we had some decisions to make. What were we going to eat???? There were quite a few dinners that I was having trouble deciding between but chose the Braised Short Ribs and Mike got the Bourbon Bone-In Porkchop. And holy moly! It was absolutely delicious.

Unfortunately, we were too stuffed to attempt dessert. It was time for us to head home and change into sweatpants with elastic waistbands. Until next month, Sanford.
