Today’s Alive After 5’s theme was Pirates! Pirates are always a popular theme (see my previous post about the Festival of the St. Juans) so combined with this awesome weather, the event was bound to be a success! One of the main “attractions” was the pirate ship in front of The Breezeway. Of course N had to climb up (he didn’t even insist on me coming with him, I guess being a pirate is a boys’ thing), but I just couldn’t resist having our picture taken on the ship so I decided to follow him…
The event, just like last month, featured a rock climbing wall (on the corner of Park Ave & First Street) and bounce house (next to the Welcome Center on First Street) which made it again a big hit for families with kids. Of course, all the pirates that roamed the streets giving out beads were another highlight, not just for the little ones.
Next month’s event is Sanford de Mayo, Sanford’s biggest Cinco de Mayo street party on May 8, 2014 from 5-8pm. Remember, Alive After 5, Central Florida’s biggest monthly themed street party, takes place every 2nd Thursday of the month in downtown Sanford!
