2019 LOVE YOUR SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL

Where: Wayne Densch 201 S. Magnolia Ave.

When: Feb. 7th-10th, show times vary

What: The Love Your Shorts Film Festival celebrates short films in Sanford, Florida (located just twenty minutes north of Orlando).
We screen only short films under 30 minutes in length. Films are divided into different blocks for screening and the audience votes for their favorites. The winning films from each block advance to a final block for a panel of judges to pick the overall festival winner.
At the end of each block a brief Q&A session is conducted between the filmmakers and audience members.

What: Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Emil Buehler Planetarium by learning some of the many love stories told in the tapestry of the night sky. Discover the Korean myth about the stars Vega and Altair and their separation on either side of the Milky Way river. Experience the romance between Orion the Hunter and Artemis, the goddess of the moon, and discover how this love story tragically ends. Travel to the depths of the underworld in the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Finally, enjoy the classic Native American tale of Algon the Hunter and the lost star maidens of the Pleiades.

Doors open 15 minutes prior to showtime. Seating is limited and first available.

A telescope will be provided (weather permitting) for stargazing after each show.

Cost: Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students (K-12, non-Seminole State) and seniors 55+, FREE for Seminole State students, faculty, and staff. Cash ONLY

Love is Love – Sip & Shop

For the Love of Craft Beer- Valentine’s Day Chocolate Pairing

Like our normal date nights you’ll get to hear the story, which is at its root a love story. For our Valentine’s workshop Wondermade’s founders, Nathan and Jenn Clark, will tell the story and lead parts of the workshop.

Each couple will get to cut and decorate their own marshmallows, plus experiences some of Wondermade’s sweetest treats and goodies.
