New Year’s eve is a time for reflection and nostalgia, but above all, for celebration! Since we love a reason to party in Sanford, downtown merchants are planning some excellent New Year’s parties. I’ve rounded up the most happening places to be on New Year’s eve in downtown Sanford, so no matter your celebratory style, you’ll be in the perfect spot when it comes time for the toast.

Be surrounded by good friends and cheer
Buster’s Bistro
Even if the 31st is the first time you’ve walked in the door, the crew at Buster’s Bistro will never fail to make you feel right at home. Let them pick out your dream date Belgian beer, help yourself to a $10 buffet of home cooked food, and cuddle up by the fire in the beer garden as you kiss 2014 goodbye and enter the new year surrounded by great friends, old and new.
Dress up and feel elegant
Celery City Craft
If you want 2014 to go out in style, dust off your pearls and fedoras for Celery City Craft’s prohibition bash. With plenty of shuffle board and delicious craft beer to fuel your charleston, you can party like it’s 1925. This night of time travel and decadence is sure to be the swankiest party in town…the perfect place to see and be seen.

Party at Fat Rat’s Lounge (410 S Sanford Ave) with a free champagne toast at midnight. Best dressed wins $50. With the speakeasy theme this recently reopened bar has going on, this 1920s party is bound to be fun!

West End Trading Company
Start the new year with a bang at the West End Trading Company. Grab a drink and jam out while the Supervillains play the back room. Plenty of beer pong, dancing, and champagne with the chillest people in Sanford. It’s bound to be loud, fun, and one crazy party.
Drink local brews and get a little nostalgic
Wop’s Hops Brewing Company
Look out over the beautiful new Sanford Avenue streetscape while you sip a handcrafted beer in the Wop’s Hops beer garden. The twinkling lights at midnight will remind you of the amazing things that can be accomplished in one year and leave you optimistic for the year ahead.
