Boy, this was one windy day! Nelson and I happened to take very similar pictures today: flags that were virtually parallel to the ground (Nelson got the better shot, I gave up too soon after trying several times. It certainly didn’t help that it was freezing cold, Florida style of course, and that means the high 50s…). Well, oddly enough these two flags are somewhat related. The flag on the left is, as most of you can tell, the one down by the Riverwalk on Park Avenue. The flag on the left is the flag located at Sanford Memorial Stadium where we had our last Sanford Citizens’ Academy class. While touring the stadium I found out that the flag pole at Sanford Memorial Stadium is actually the one that used to be downtown before the current one was installed. It was “saved” along with several palm trees and they were all brought to their new home at the stadium…
