13. 14th Annual Kettle Cup Regatta

Where: Lake Monroe; Downtown Sanford

What: The Lake Monroe Sailing Association would like to invite everyone to come and sail in the 14th Annual Kettle Cup Regatta. Since 2001, The Lake Monroe Sailing Association has hosted the Kettle Cup Regatta to help families in need during the holiday season. Each year the Kettle Cup Regatta raises funds to assist local charities of Seminole County bring joy to families in the area. This year we hope to provide more to our local families in need, but we need you to accomplish this. We need sailors to come out and participate. Sailing associations and clubs are asked to help by posting the Kettle Cup announcement on your bulletin board or website to get the word out.

Admission: Free for viewers, there is a fee for boaters who would like to participate.

20. Nikolaus Day Celebration

When: Sunday, December 6th, 2015 6pm-8pm

Where: Magnolia Square Market (117 S Magnolia Avenue) and Hollerbach’s (205 E First Street)

What: St. Nikolaus Day is celebrated yearly on the 6th of December. It is the day children find out whether they have been good or bad.

Kids either get a toy from St. Nikolaus or a piece of coal. St Nikolaus will first be at Magnolia Square Market for pictures and to pass out gifts to the children. From there he will make his way to Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Cafe to join in on Jimmy and Eckhard: Live Traditional German Music‘s Holiday Program. They will be performing traditional Christmas carols in both German and English.

What: Learn about Sanford’s “Swedish” past on Dec. 12, 2015 from 1pm to 4pm, at the Museum of Seminole County History (across from the old Flea World). The founder of the town, Henry S. Sanford, began bringing Swedish immigrants here in 1871, to work as laborers (indentured servants) in his orange groves in Sanford. Descendants of Henry Sanford’s Swedes, still live in the area & attend this celebration!

44. Touch the FREE STUFF and win on Christmas at West End!

When: December 25th 6pm

Where: West End 202 S Sanford Ave, Sanford, Florida 32771

What: Come put your hand on the prizes, and last person with a hand touching it wins! There will be several prizes including a 50 inch flat screen TV, we will list the prizes here with pics soon. Prizes will be awarded to those who stay in contact the longest in order of value. If at midnight we still have more than one winner we will draw lotto style for the prizes.

If your Christmas sucked and you didn’t get much, or you are just bored and want to win or hang out and watch the ridiculousness, West End Trading Co. is your place on Christmas day!

45. The Picnic Project Presents Christmas in the park

Where: Centennial Park 400 South Park Avenue

What: Join us on Friday for our annual Christmas in the Park! All are welcome!

There will be delicious food, ice cream to make you forget how ridiculously warm it is on Christmas, gifts, a piñata and more!
