The Sketchbook Project Sanford FLHave you heard about the Sketchbook Project? I learned about it last month and got immediately excited about this wonderful idea:

It’s like a concert tour, but with sketchbooks.

Thousands of sketchbooks will be exhibited at galleries and museums as they make their way on tour across the world.

After the tour, all sketchbooks will enter into the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, where they will be barcoded and available for the public to view.

Anyone – from anywhere in the world – can be a part of the project.

There are lots of fun and interesting themes you can pick for your sketchbook, including “Time Traveler”,”In 10 Minutes”, or “Things Found Under Car Seats”. I picked “The Companion Book”, because I want to make this sketchbook the companion book to my Sanford365 Blog. Can’t wait to get started 🙂

My book is still empty but I hope it will be filled with my “sketches” about Sanford by the January 31st deadline. I will make the book available online for you to view then.

Too bad the Sketchbook Tour doesn’t stop in Orlando next year. This year (2011) they actually exhibited all the awesome work at Fullsail right here in Orlando!!

Click here if you would like to participate as well.

…and here is what I did about 3 years ago.
