I couldn’t agree more with Christina, Sanford’s parks are beautiful! Here’s a bit more about 18th Street Park…

“Another thing we enjoy about Sanford are its parks. There are quite a few open spaces in Sanford which remind us of cities in Europe and that small-town feel in general. Today’s picture is of the 18th Street Park.

Despite the area being known as a park, the almost 10 acres of open land is currently not designated a city park. It is currently labeled “Open Space” and is bordered by U.S. 17-92, 15th Street, Elm Avenue and 18th Street.

While it may not be an official park (and hopefully it will be one day), many park-like activities take place here: youth football practices and Sunday cricket games are included among the amateur golfers, frisbee throwers, and dog walkers.

Also included in the park is the Sanford Community Garden . . . but I’ll save that for another day :)”
