Lots of people that saw this picture actually thought I had already taken an actual ride on the all new Sunrail. I had to tell everyone though that it was just some “test sitting” inside the train since Sunrail doesn’t start operating until May 1st. On April 5th, 2014 (let’s call it a historic date…) I went to the grand opening of the Sanford Sunrail station. There was a big crowd of Sunrail fans lined up already to tour the train and gather some information such as the official schedule. The brand new station looks great, just like the ones you know from big cities. The train reminded me so much of the trains we used to ride in Europe and it’s very nice to have double decker wagons. I was there with a stroller for my little son and it was quite easy to get in and out and there’s definitely enough space on the bottom level to ride this train with a stroller.
Sunrail wants everyone to experience the ease of a commuter train so they offer FREE train rides from May 1st to May 16th. So check it out and give it a try, I am sure I will, and I promise I will be reporting back to you how that first ever Sunrail ride went for me. Hopefully only positive things to say 🙂
