Some of you may have enjoyed a cool Wop’s Hops at Marco Dino’s or Celery City Craft before, but now the local brewers have their very own microbrewery right here in Sanford! Wop’s Hops opened its doors to the public with a soft opening this past Saturday (10/25) and I was able to stop by to take a look around, talk to the owners Greg Piecora and Peter Minelga, and, of course, snap some pictures…
The old Stokes Fish Market building is shining in new glory with its beautiful mural. Even on the inside details of the old building were preserved…
Here’s where Sanford’s very own brewery will brew some delicious beer. Wop’s Hope currently has 4 brews on tap (Wop’s Hops ESB, Extra Special Bitter – Wop’s Hops Australian Ale – Wop’s Hops Oatmeal Stout – Wop’s Hops Scottish Ale) and you can stop by anytime during the day and make use of their beer growler fill station to take home your favorite beers.

The Oatmeal Stout got some rave reviews but I personally can’t wait to try the Sweet Potato Ale Greg will start brewing in November…
And then there’s a new beer on the horizon! Greg is working with Paul Williams (West End Trading Co. and Celery City) to come up with Sanford’s very own official beer dubbed “The Bokey” 🙂
The Italian flag is proudly waving next to the American in Lake Monroe’s breeze. That’s beacuse Greg is of Italian heritage…

Below are pictures of the beautiful beer garden where you can enjoy all of Wops Hops beers and the wines they carry. The atmosphere in the beer garden is very relaxed, just some nice background tunes so you can still hear your own voice and have a great conversation with friends…
Kids are welcome and so are dogs. Another plus is that, even though Wop’s Hops doesn’t offer any food, you can order food from any of the surrounding restaurants and have it delivered to Wop’s Hops. Menus are available in the tasting room.
The tasting room is warm and friendly, and so was the staff. Sanford has a new inviting place that will make you feel just at home…
