Swamp Rats take intricate claw hammer banjo and blends it with a driving punk rhythm fronted by gritty & soothing harmonizing vocals. Some have said the music sounds like a type of haunted that makes them happy. Folk with an edge is what most people say about Florida’s “Phantom” folk band Swamp Rats.
City Newspaper – Rochester, New York-
“One genre couldn’t even begin to describe Florida-based trio Swamp Rats. The style contains bits of modern train-hopping punk yet is heavily influenced by traditional bluegrass with folk underpinnings — uniquely blended with metal riffs and mucky Southern blues. Each musician plays multiple instruments, so you’ll hear specks of acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin, stomp box, washboard, and despondent lyrics of life experience and the road.”-https://www.rochestercitynewspaper.com/…/ame…/Content…
Incubator – Incubatormusic.net -”The three-person group barely fit on the elevated plank of wood dubbed “the stage.” But I’ll be damned if they didn’t play like they were headlining a trucker convention in Trenton, New Jersey.” http://incubatormusic.net/swamp-rats-may-be-scurring…/
