Dexters in Lake Mary FL

Oh what a beautiful Cinco de Mayo it was! Sunny and warm – just perfect to enjoy a fresh margarita outside with friends!

We went to Dexters (located at Colonial Town Park) in Lake Mary for lunch. Their Cinco de Mayo special was phenomenal. Finally I got to east “Posole” again! I hadn’t eaten this traditional Mexican soup for over 10 years – back then I visited my Mexican part of the family with my sister and our uncle invited us to a quaint little restaurant in Mexico City. Posole is basically a pork stew with white or yellow hominy and other vegetables and spices. You can spice it up with chili and then make it milder with sour cream and have tostadas instead of bread to go with it. Posoles are served “green” or “red” depending on the tomatoes in it. I still remember that dish because I absolutely loved it! The posole at Dexters was super delicious, I wish they would keep it on their menu all year round đŸ™‚

Dexters is one of the most popular bars located at Colonial Towne Park in Lake Mary. I had previously written about this restaurant/bar on day 29:

“Dexter’s is quite known in the Orlando area because they also have locations in Winter Park and Downtown Orlando (Lake Eola). At Dexter’s in Lake Mary you can almost be sure there’s always something going on and they stay pretty busy.”

Thursday nights is Ladies Night with a DJ, the place is typically packed on that day. On weekends Dexters offers some of the hottest live music of the area. Dexters is a great place to meet up with friends for lunch, dinner or drinks, we are always happy with their service and the ambient is kind of trendy/urban with artwork that can be purchased.
