Bowling has always been a favorite activity of mine – from birthday parties when I was younger to date nights now that I’m older. I was so glad to hear that Airport Lanes Sanford invited us to try out their bowling alley here in Sanford. The lanes originally opened in 2000, but due to a hurricane were forced to close their doors in 2004 for about 6 months. However, in 2016-2017, the lanes got a more modern makeover inside and out!
Upon arriving to a bustling crowd of people having a great time bowling, we were given a tour where we got to see Airport Lanes’ 32 lanes that include built in scoring as well as your own area to sit and enjoy your game with family or friends. We were also shown their arcade along with billiard tables, darts and 17 TVs located in the Brooklyn South Bar where we got to meet Carrie Ann, one of the bartenders. Brooklyn South Bar offers a large menu of drinks and food, as well as happy hour specials every Monday through Friday.

What I loved the most about Airport Lanes Sanford was the amount of variety they offer in order to cater to every group of people.
For example, if you want to have a birthday party for your kids, you can choose either the lanes in the black light side or regular lighting, they can split the sound so you have your own microphone and music and they have 3 different packages to choose from!
If you’re looking for more of a date night or adult night out, you can bowl in the lanes near the bar, enjoy the happy hour specials and have a great time well into the night!

Although I lost all three games that we played by about 100 points (which, if you’re not familiar with how bowling is scored, is not good), I could not have had more fun. The service we received from both the Brooklyn South Bar staff and bowling alley staff exceeded all expectations. It was also fun finding out that James has a secret talent for bowling, and I can’t wait to go back so I can try and beat him!

Airport Lanes offers so many specials not only for every day of the week, but for special events such as football game days (that is a special event in our household), holiday packages, business/social events and their biggest one coming up – New Year’s Eve! Ring in 2020 with a $10 daytime all you can bowl special which includes shoes, or a nighttime special which includes a midnight balloon drop, champagne toast, giveaways and party favors!
