Gallery on First in Downtown Sanford FL

Gallery on First is Sanford’s unique art gallery, a gallery that can almost be referred to as interactive. Why? Because Gallery on First strives to educate the public and open up the conversation between people interested in art and emerging artists. Part of the interaction are classes offered by the gallery and their artists in the respective artist studios within the gallery. From Watercolor painting to Illustration, there will certainly be something for everyone.

The gallery is located in the Hotchkiss building (built 1882) on First Street in Sanford, FL. The gallery is a great place to spend an afternoon to get inspired. A nice, urban touch are the exposed brick walls inside the gallery. They make a great contrast to the often colorful art pieces.
Gallery on First also has various rental opportunities available so give them a call in case you are planning a reception or workshop.

The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10am to 6pm and Sunday, from 12 – 5pm.

Hi, my name is Claudia! I live, work and play in Sanford, FL. To top it all off, I am also totally in love with Sanford! My husband Jose and I are Realtors in Sanford, FL and help people realize their dreams of home ownership. We have two sons, Nicolas (2011) and Lukas (2013). I am originally from Germany, moved here in 2004. In 2008 I started Sanford365.com. I love everything that says creativity. Design is my passion, no matter if Graphic, Web or Fashion Design - and I am also into photography :) I'm also very social and love to hang out with my family and friends, be it for a kids play date or a fun night out ;)

Gallery On First is a great step in the direction that Sanford needs to take to get it’s revitalization going. The town has such potential to become an artistic hub. People need to support places like this and the artists that are doing creative work there.
